Jake Natwick And "Revelate" Announce CD Release
December 4, 2014
In addition to his busy law practice, Jake Natwick is an aspiring musician, as well. Jake, his wife Tova, and three other musicians and singers make up the Christian band Revelate. The band has been playing together for approximately three years -- leading worship for college students on Tuesday evenings at Sunnybrook Community Church in Sioux City. They have also played on several college campuses throughout the area and at weekend conferences and retreats. Over the past year, the band introduced original songs written by Jake to the college students and decided this summer that it was time to record them.
To fund the recording project, Revelate used Kickstarter, which allowed others to support the recording and in turn receive various rewards (CDs, posters, shirts, and even a house concert). The Kickstarter campaign was a success, and they recorded the album over several trips to the 402 Arts Collective recording studio in Omaha, where they worked with Grammy Award-winning producer, Jason Burkum. The recording was completed in August, and the CD was printed in November.
Revelate's CD release party will take place on December 9 at 8:00 p.m. at Sunnybrook Community Church and is free and open to the public. It will be the first time the CD will be available for purchase. In addition to playing songs from the CD, the band will share stories about how the project came together. Following the release party, the CD will also be available on iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby. Learn more about the band.
